LUC

The League of Ukrainian Catholics, (LUC) formerly known as Ukrainian Catholic Youth League, was founded in 1933 in Chicago, IL by the late Metropolitan Ambrose Senyshyn as an extension of the Church, the body of Christ in it’s mission, lending lay assistance to a growing Ukrainian Catholic community. The League is active in all Eparchies of the USA, supporting the Hierarchy and the clergy in their work. LUC members are involved in many aspects of Church life.

The League was the original “Vibrant Parish” organization as it was and is the support group in the Church on an Eparchial level, deanery level and mostly on a Parish level.

Our Mission: The spirit of the early Church, having characteristics of prayer, giving help and aid, fellowship and teaching as St. Paul describes the early Church in Acts 2, it is in this spirit, the League promotes Ukrainian Catholic spirituality and education of our Byzantine Tradition; supports, helps and aids our Ukrainian Catholic Parishes; builds community and fosters fellowship with a special focus on promoting the Servant of God Metropolitan Andrij Sheptytsky’s canonization process.

We come together to offer God our prayers, our hearts, our lives; God gives us back to one another to share His life and His love. That’s what the League of Ukrainian Catholics is all about.
